EVANSVILLE, INDIANA, TO HOST 2017 NATIONAL THEATRE ON ICE COMPETITION

(5/9/16) – The Greater Evansville Figure Skating Club and Evansville Sports Corporation announced today that the city of Evansville, Indiana, will host the 2017 National Theatre On Ice competition June 21-June 25, 2017, at the Ford Center (competition) and Swonder Ice Arena (practice).

 

Theatre On Ice (TOI) is a form of competitive figure skating that combines the grace of figure skating with the excitement of theater and dance. Teams consist of between eight and 24 skaters. The programs are judged by U.S. Figure Skating judges and are evaluated on technical merit and presentation with emphasis on originality, costuming, artistry and musicality.

Approximately 1,700 skaters on 90 teams from around the United States are expected to compete. For more information, please visit www.2017nationaltoi.com.

The 2016 National Theatre On Ice competition is set for June 30-July 3, 2016, in Birmingham, Alabama.
