(9/11/16) – Team USA earned five medals at two events this week as the 2016-17 international season continued in Bergamo, Italy, and Yokohama, Japan.
2015 U.S. champion Jason Brown lead Team USA’s charge at Lombardia Trophy, winning silver in the men’s event with 256.49 points. His free skate score of 174.91 was the highest of the event by 2.66 points. 2013 U.S. champion Max Aaron completed the podium, winning bronze with 218.73 points. 2008 U.S. champion Mirai Nagasubagged a second bronze for Team USA in the ladies event, earning a total score of 176.86 points.
Both Rachel and Michael Parsons and Vincent Zhou took home hardware from JGP Japan, winning gold and silver in the ice dance and men’s events, respectively. The Parsons siblings earned a total score of 160.42 points, which marks the highest overall ice dance score to date in the 2016 JGP Series. Zhou set personal-best scores across the board at the event, earning his third-career JGP silver with 226.39 points.
