Team USA Wins Three Medals at Two International Events

(10/9/16) – Team USA earned three medals across two events this week as the 2016-17 international season continued in Espoo, Finland, and Dresden, Germany.

Finlandia Trophy Results

In his senior international debut, Nathan Chen made history as the first skater to attempt both a quadruple flip and a quadruple Lutz in his short program. He won the men’s title with 256.44, topping his previous international best by nearly 20 points.

Madison Hubbell and Zachary Donohue won their second Challenger Series medal of the season, taking home silver with 165.76 points. The duo also won the ice dance title at the U.S. International Classic last month.

JGP Germany Results

Rachel and Michael Parsons won their 10th-career JGP Series title, earning their third-straight trip to the JGP Final. The siblings earned positive GOEs across the board in both segments of competition, winning the title by nearly 10 points with 157.63.
