Congratulations to our fantastic 23 GB skaters who all performed excellently in the Volvo Open Cup this weekend, including a first place finish for one of our young skating stars in Riga.

In the Senior Men’s category, reigning British Champion Phillip Harris just missed out on a podium position, achieving an excellent 4th place. CBBC Ice Star Josh Brown came in 7th and Charlie Parry-Evans scored 150.51 to finish 10th. The three skaters have found consistency this season and will be hoping their good form continues.

We had another top ten finish in the Senior Ladies, with Nottingham’s Nina Povey coming in 7th after scoring 133.51. British Champion Danielle Harrison came in 16th and Karly Robertson was placed in 18th.

Junior Ladies Kloe Rozgonyi, Rebecca Gillespie and Genevieve Somerville achieved 13th, 16th and 17th place in Group 1. In Group 2, Victoria McMahon scored 86.29 to finish in 18th.

We had two top ten finishes in the Junior Ice Dance category, with Joy Davis and Eron Westwood coming in 8th and twins Clare and Tom Whalley not far behind in 9th.

In the Advanced Novice Girls, Lucy Merrilees skated well to achieve 12th place, while Christie Anne Shannon finished in 16th. Chloe Dempsie scored 67.98 to finish in 22nd and Emily Spratt came in 26th after a long weekend of skating.

Congratulations to Morgan Dempsie (pictured) who came in first place in the Basic Novice A Girls. Ayr’s Morgan will be hoping this fantastic start bodes well moving forward.

Jedidiah Lincoln finished in 6th place in the Basic Novice A Boys category.

Basic Novice A Girls Taylor McLeod and Lily Mathias came in 11th and 14th place in Riga.

Arabella Sear-Watkins finished in 14th in the Cubs A Girls category.
