Penny said: “It was a very unexpected surprise that came just at the right time. I’m currently rehabbing a very serious injury and understandably I had been feeling quite low.
“Being nominated for such a prestigious award, making the final five and then being interviewed along with some of the most inspiring women in our country made me feel so proud.
It reminded me of how far I have come and it gave me the confidence I needed to feel like myself again.”
The Women of the Future Awards are in their 11th year and seek to recognise and celebrate inspirational young female stars.
The winners will be announced on November 16th.
