(11/20/16) – The United States took home a pair of medals over the weekend, with Maia and Alex Shibutani taking gold at Cup of China and Chelsea Liu and Brian Johnson winning silver at Warsaw Cup.

The Shibutanis won their second gold medal of the season and qualified for the 2016 Grand Prix Final next month in Marseille, France. Their total score equaled 185.13 points. Anastasia Cannuscio and Colin McManus, in their only Grand Prix appearance of the season, finished eighth with 141.17 points.

Max Aaron recorded a fourth-place finish after placing third in the free skate. His overall score was 242.74 points and he was left off the podium by just one point. Ross Miner finished ninth at 213.34 points. The American women, Ashley Wagner (181.38), Karen Chen (179.39) and Courtney Hicks (163.64), finished sixth, seventh and ninth, respectively. In their season debut, Jessica Pfund and Joshua Santillan placed eighth with 142.41 points.
Liu and Johnson, in their senior international debut at Warsaw Cup, won Team USA’s second medal of the weekend with 141.80 points. Also in Warsaw, and making their senior international debuts, Tomoki Hiwatashi finished ninth (182.12) and Charlotte Maxwell and Ryan Devereaux sixth (120.80).
