“My parents are worried because if there are too many donations, I might become lazy. Not to lose my first intention, I will only accept the support with my heart.
“Thank you, President Moon and everyone who have supported us. Thank you so much for your support.”
Min and Gamelin have been fundraising since last year through a fund-raising site called High-Fund.com to raise training costs for the 2022 Beijing Olympic Games.
Over the past year, the amount of sponsorship has been limited to a small amount, but after the impression of the PyeongChang Olympic Games, the amount of sponsorship surged, reaching $ 124,440 (about 133,235,000 won), more than the current target of $ 100,000.
President Moon Jae-in and the first lady sponsored a $ 1,000 donation at their own expense.
President Moon said on Facebook after the closing ceremony of the Olympics on 25th, “Arirang’s melody shown by Min-Yura and Alexander Gamelin has been a touching tone of language and cultural barriers, and I have learned that you have trained at your own expense. Many people will be with you.”
